Consular Corps NI Attends grANDfest Cultural Festival in Newtownards

NEWTOWNARDS – The Consular Corps for Northern Ireland was represented at grANDfest, a
family-friendly cultural festival held at the Queen’s Hall in Newtownards.

The free event celebrated local and global culture through food, music, arts, and dance, attracting a
significantly larger attendance than previous years. The increased turnout reflects growing interest
in cultural exchange and community engagement across the Ards and North Down area.

The festival featured diverse entertainment and activities, bringing together people from various
backgrounds to participate in cultural celebrations. Maurice Macartney coordinated the event, with
support from Sanjay Ghosh and other organisers dedicated to fostering community connections.

grANDfest serves as a platform for promoting Good Relations and cultural harmony in the region,
creating inclusive spaces for community members to engage with diverse traditions and practices.

The festival’s success was attributed to the efforts of organisers, performers, and volunteers who
contributed to the event’s vibrant atmosphere and positive reception.

The Consular Corps’ attendance underscores its commitment to supporting cultural initiatives and
community-building efforts across Northern Ireland, particularly those that celebrate diversity and
promote intercultural understanding.
