BELFAST – The Consular Corps for Northern Ireland was represented at the Romanian National
Day celebration held at Queen’s University Belfast’s Whitla Hall.
The event, organised by the Belfast Intercultural Romanian Community, showcased traditional
Romanian culture through music, dance, and cuisine, while bringing together members of the
diplomatic community and local organisations.
The celebration placed particular emphasis on recognising young Romanian talent in Northern
Ireland, celebrating their academic achievements and creative contributions to the community.
The evening provided an opportunity for diplomatic dialogue, with representatives from various
consulates and community organisations in attendance, including Consul Aurelia Titirez,
ImageNation NI, and the Chinese Welfare Association.
Malina Virtejanu and Io’anna Stoica led the organisation of the event, which was supported by
Queen’s University Belfast.
The Consular Corps’ presence at the celebration reflects its commitment to supporting Northern
Ireland’s diverse communities and fostering intercultural understanding and collaboration across
the region.
